Our intimate jungle oasis accommodations allow for only 8 adult guests at any time. Each individual casita is decorated and furnished with your comforts in mind, no detail is forgotten.

You will experience dynamic every changing views in every direction. Our jungle, mountain, and partial ocean views are mesmerizing! Views that will elevate all your senses!

Nature’s Edge – Mountainside Jungle Location

You will be staying high in the mountains over the town of Uvita (the hotel is situated 1200 feet above sea level). Our 10-acre property is surrounded by the lush rainforest with partial views of the ocean and the Osa Peninsula in the distance. Some days you can see cloud forests in the distant mountains.

Nature’s Edge is truly “located on the edge of nature” come stay with us and become one with the jungle.

It’s not uncommon to get up-close encounters with the local wildlife during your stay. Many guests have seen toucans, aracari, several other species of native birds, coati (pizote) and howler monkeys enjoying the lush jungle life and calling out to one another.

Your Hosts – Keith & Joe

Your hosts Keith and Joe searched very carefully to find the jungle paradise that is Nature’s Edge.

After all, they are living out their lifelong dream of being in Costa Rica and owning a bed and breakfast in this idyllic paradise.

Nature’s Edge is their home too and they are excited to share it with you. They live at the hotel and are happy to host you and welcome you to their little slice of jungle paradise.

Together Keith and Joe have over 30 years of combined experience in the travel and hospitality industries.

Your hosts will pamper you with luxurious, yet affordable accommodations, making your stay extraordinary and memorable. 

Keith and Joe both draw on their knowledge and skill set to add that extra flair to Nature’s Edge.

They have enjoyed many years of experience in the travel industry.

It is their passion and they love to play host to people from all over the world.

Your Hosts – Share Their Travel Explorations and Dream

Keith and Joe have had the good fortune to explore the world on journeys around the globe. From these travels, they learned what travelers demand and expect.  Together they bring these experiences to Nature’s Edge, so they can deliver exceptional accommodations and service. 

Keith and Joe moved to Costa Rica from the United States.  They were destined to be together! In 2007, when they first met in Atlanta, Georgia, they had the same book about retiring to Costa Rica.   Not to mention the dream of owning a bed & breakfast.

After living in Arizona for many years, they made the decision to make their dream a reality and move to Costa Rica. In 2020, they bought Nature’s Edge and moved with their beloved rescue dog Eco (the first mascot of Nature’s Edge). They completed an extensive renovation of the entire property and reopened in late 2020. Eco shared in their dreams for a short while but could not out live cancer. Keith & Joe then rescued Louie, their Costa Rican street dog. Together the 3 of them enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world to their little slice of jungle paradise they also call home!

Where Is Nature’s Edge

We are located in The Costa Ballena Region of Costa Rica on The Southern Pacific Side of the country.

The jungle and mountains meet the sea throughout this nature lovers playground.

Nature’s Edge is in the town of Uvita. Marino Ballena National Park and the famous Whales Tail are both located in Uvita.

You are only a little over a 1 hour drive away from Manuel Antonio National Park and 2 1/2 hours away by boat from Corcovado National Park.

Uvita, our home town, is home to many restaurants and shopping. It is the main town for the entire region which includes Dominical to the north and Ojochal to the south. These other towns have their own charm and should be visited while staying with us. Uvita however will have everything you need to make you vacation complete.

Visit Any Time

There are two seasons in Costa Rica, the green (rainy) season which is our winter from May through November. And the dry season, our summer from December through April!  Two beautiful seasons offer their own unique experiences, however, locals know it’s the green season that makes Costa Rica the bountiful country it is.

Don’t get us wrong, we love the summer months and the heat, but the summer months bring crowds and the tourism industry operating at full tilt. Great for us hotels! But as a tourist, consider; prices are higher, attractions are crowded, and, hotel, restaurant and tour reservations need to be made well in advance! 

We find the birds and wildlife seem to enjoy the green season slightly more than dry season as it is cooler and more lush for them. But to be honest, they aren’t too picky as they are usually here year round. Why wouldn’t they want to live here in paradise year round?

Whether rainy or dry, Costa Rica is a beautiful country that is to be enjoyed all year round. But it is the rainfall that makes Costa Rica so lush and beautiful – so don’t miss it.
