Where Can I See or Hear Birds at Nature’s Edge

Our balconies and patios are designed as the perfect place to spend a day bird watching.

You can also spend time at Terraza de Alma, our jungle oasis pool area surrounded by the jungle.

Guests are often visited by toucans, aracaris, crested guans, or other species of birds. Always keep in mind you are visiting the birds natural habitat, so there is no guarantee they will visit you during your stay.

Birds We Have Seen or Heard at Nature’s Edge

Since we are high in the canopies of the jungle, birds love to visit us or sing/call from the tree tops in the distance. If nature cooperates during your stay it is sure to be a visual or audio show of birding delight.

A neighbor living our our mountain who loved bird photography said he was able to photograph over 200 species of birds within walking distance of our hotel and that probably another 50 to 100 may call our mountain area home.

Usually dawn and dusk is when the jungle comes alive with the sounds and sights of visiting birds. Always remember, since we you are visiting birds and other wildlife where they live in nature, there are no guarantees they will be sighted or heard during your stay.

We are located in The Costa Ballena Region of Costa Rica on The Southern Pacific Side of the country.

Nature’s Edge is in the town of Uvita. Marino Ballena National Park and the famous Whales Tail are both located in Uvita.

You are only a little over a 1 hour drive away from Manuel Antonio National Park and 2 1/2 hours away by boat from Corcovado National Park.

Visit Any Time

There are two seasons in Costa Rica, the green (rainy) season which is our winter from May through November. And the dry season, our summer from December through April!  Two beautiful seasons offer their own unique experiences, however, locals know it’s the green season that makes Costa Rica the bountiful country it is.

Don’t get us wrong, we love the summer months and the heat, but the summer months bring crowds and the tourism industry operating at full tilt. Great for us hotels! But as a tourist, consider; prices are higher, attractions are crowded, and, hotel, restaurant and tour reservations need to be made well in advance! 

We find the birds and wildlife seem to enjoy the green season slightly more than dry season as it is cooler and more lush for them. But to be honest, they aren’t too picky as they are usually here year round. Why wouldn’t they want to live here in paradise year round?

Whether rainy or dry, Costa Rica is a beautiful country that is to be enjoyed all year round. But it is the rainfall that makes Costa Rica so lush and beautiful – so don’t miss it.
